Students will receive:

  • Basics of Pistol Shooting Handbook
  • NRA Basic Firearms Training Program brochure

  • Course Completion Certificate

Students will need to bring:

  • Firearm
  • Ammunition (50 rounds)
  • Eye and Ear Protection
  • Snacks and bottled water will be provided

NOTE: If you do not have a firearm, a loaner will be provided FREE of charge. There will be a $20 charge for your ammunition. If you do not have eye and ear protection, these will be provided FREE of charge. Prescription glasses or sunglasses are acceptable eye wear. Please wear comfortable clothing. No low-cut blouses or open-toed shoes for safety reasons.

Class Capacity:

  • Maximum of 12 students

  • Minimum of 4 students

  • Minors taking this class must be accompanied by a parent or responsible family member

NRA First Steps Pistol Course

Class will be 4 hours. You will learn how to properly handle, store, clean and fire a handgun. You will learn about the Single Action/Double Action Revolvers, and Semi- Automatic Pistols. You can expect three hours of classroom time and one hour live fire portion. Firearms and ammunition are provided for the live fire portion of this course. ($20 fee for ammo). Students may bring their personal firearm if so desired (if doing so, please bring 50 rounds of factory ammo). Class Fee includes: ALL RANGE FEES, USE OF A FIREARM, EYE and EAR PROTECTION, SNACKS, BOTTLED WATER.

This course is a perfect foundation to build your knowledge of handguns on.

There are no pre-requisites. This is a great course for new shooters.
