This course is 8-hours long and includes classroom (6 hrs.) and range time (2 hrs.) learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. This course is great for beginners, young people (age 12 & up) and anyone with the desire to learn how to use a handgun safely. If you have a handgun in your home or plan to get a License to Carry a Handgun our course is an investment in your safety! NOTE: If you have taken the NRA 'First Steps' Class this is a perfect follow-up class. If you have not taken First Steps, you can still attend this class.
